Querying was both an incredibly fun part of the process for me, and also frustrating and disheartening at times. I was lucky to have mentors in the writing community who looked over my query letters, dug deep into critiquing first pages, and did it all with the belief I could succeed. I absorbed everything they taught me, and after writing successful query letters of my own, I want to pass that knowledge (and positivity) on to others. The packages I offer are below.

Query Critique, One Pass

If you're staring at your query letter, wanting to scribble all over it, let me do some scribbling for you (in the form of track changes/comments in Word). I'll point out places of reader confusion, give content and line edits, and ensure your query has all the key components.

Query Critique, Two Passes

For the first pass, I'll do everything described in the one-pass query critique. Then you'll have an opportunity to make changes based on my edits. We'll do a final round, where I'll identify further ways to strengthen and tighten.

First Five Pages Critique

It can be difficult balancing character introduction, plot, conflict, and voice, all within just a few pages. I'll provide line editing, as well as content edits, ensuring all the threads are balanced.

Query Bundle

This bundle includes one pass of your query letter, and one pass of your first five pages.

Turn around time:

Each query critique will be returned within 72 hrs.*

If you've chosen a two-pass critique, it will be within 72 hours between each pass.

Five page critiques and query bundles will be returned within a week.*

If you critique my query letter, does it mean I'll get full requests?

Agent taste varies so widely, that even if you have a 'perfect' query letter, it still doesn't guarantee your manuscript is the best fit for them. So while I cannot promise requests, I can ensure your query letter presents your story in the most engaging and clear way possible, to give it the best shot in agent inboxes.
